  1. Won't somebody else take over the first post? I always feel like "today's the day I will make a mistake in the title and will have to live with the shame."

  4. Yo.
    Spoiler
“I’ll take good care of him!” Derlassia quickly said, taking Sappo into her hands. “Thank you… Thank you for your gift. Um… Captain.”

“Mm. Havalpo, make us hit the road again, will ya? I’ll be in my room, so, let’s make sure our rookie rain cat gets used to my Coo-Hatch in the meantime. Anolk, any injuries?”

“Nothing I can’t handle, Captain!” Anolk exclaimed joyfully.

“Then we’re off. Anolk? Gourmet? Damage my Coo-Hatch again and I’m strangling ya.” with that said, Valcoo turned back and walked away, engulfing herself inside her personal cabin before closing the door.

“Don’t worry, Cyl, I think she’s just in a grumpy mood.” Anolk said to Derlassia. “She doesn’t really like most people.”

“And you being new and all, lil’kitty, you’ll have to wait until she gets used to you.” Shirlu added, nodding to himself. “She’s trying, though! She just doesn’t like admitting it. So! Wanna chat?”

“Have fun with that, you three.” Havalpo exclaimed. “I’ll warn you all when we’re near.” Havalpo bowed his head towards Anolk, Shirlu and Derlassia, then ran back to his spot, once again directing the Coo-Hatch towards its next destination.

“So!” Shirlu said to Derlassia after a short silence. “What’s your story, big girl?”

Lylatt turned the second-to-last page of the scene to see its end. He was met with a significantly less neat series of scribbled words that, luckily, he could still read.

    “Headache!”

Shirlu ’s excited shout lost itself in the swift breeze of his dash, as the enemy warrior moved his glowing Popsicle blades towards Anolk’s neck. The latter remained in place and, at the last second, unsheathed his sword from its scabbard, thus blocking Shirlu ’s assault. The same confident grin appeared on both of their faces as they pushed each other’s blades, a violent wind briefly circling around them as they clashed.

“You’re not gonna name that one?” Shirlu asked joyfully.

“How about 'Brisk Breath'?” Anolk replied on the same tone.

    “Hmm. Yeah, keep it!”

The two friends broke the clash and leaped back, with Shirlu swinging his sword forward: a freezing wind moved towards Anolk. The latter’s blade shone briefly and turned into a double-edged sword, then he performed a vertical slash, cutting Shirlu ’s blade of air with one of his own.

Giggling with glee, Shirlu rapidly sheathed his sword and took back his two previous ones, drawing magic symbols in the air. He passed through them, but instead of rapidly disappearing like he usually did, he absorbed the symbols instead, covering his pale skin with glyphs. He then skated at amazing speed on the icy path he had made with his air blade from earlier, reaching for Anolk.

“Gimme Five!” Shirlu shouted, preparing his next move.

Anolk tried to slash his opponent, but at the last second, Shirlu changed direction, the ice below his feet never disappearing as he skated away. He briefly summoned his wings to switch directions and found himself dashing at Anolk again, this time towards his back. Anolk turned around almost immediately and unsheathed his katana. He deflected Shirlu ’s attack with a first Brisk Breath, used a second to attack him, and turned his blade back into a double-edge one on the spot, ending his assault with a powerful gust of wind. Pushed back, Shirlu managed to sheathe his swords in mid-air and take back his main one.

“Cool off a sec!” Shirlu shouted before planting his sword on the ground, creating a brief tornado around him to repel Anolk’s wind. “Can’t touch this!” he continued as he raised his sword in the air, an icy block forming itself around it. Anolk’s green aura appeared around it again, as he prepared a mighty Whirlwind Slasher. Both warriors’ grins grew larger.

“YO! The two maggots over there!”

Shirlu and Anolk had their focus broken and their attacks cancelled with the scream. They would’ve shouted an annoyed “what?!” in return, had they not turned back only to see an angry scowl stuck on Lilyacoo’s face. She had just slammed the door of her cabin open, visibly exasperated.

“How many times do I have to tell you combat freaks to not break my ship!” she exclaimed. “Havalpo, fix the hole Gourmet made, will ya?”

“Aye, Captain!” Havalpo replied uneasily. He let go of the ship’s wheel and put a hand on the ground. As if by itself, the hole on the ship’s deck repaired itself, to Shirlu and Anolk’s astonishment.

“Better.” Lilyacoo nodded. “Seriously guys, you can practice and all, and in fact you probably should, since we’re probably gonna find more hostile idiots along the way, but don’t bring out anything too big!” she pointed at Shirlu . “You can destroy ships with a single strike!”

“Y-Yeah, but that’s not what… ‘Can’t touch this’ does, since it… just makes my blade really sturdy, and all…”

Ignoring the pitiful excuse, Lilyacoo pointed at Anolk. “And you! You were about to use that move you used to overkill your clone, right? No lying!”

“Uh… Yeah.” Anolk admitted, shameful. “Sorry, Coo, I got a bit caught up in this fight.”

“I know, and it’s the fourth time already! Honestly guys, you need to find a proper training ground if you can’t restrain yourselves here. Ugh… Anyway, I’ll save some drama for later, we’ve got another thing to worry about. Like figurin’ out how not to mess our visit to the next isle.”

Anolk raised his head. “The next isle?” he repeated cheerfully. “Which one is it again?”

“I checked the map, and it turns out Glyph Isle next.” Lilyacoo said, gazing at Shirlu as the latter’s face grew sour. “And Gourmet here happens to hate that place with a passion, so I’m a bit worried here.”

“Tch… No need to remind me.” Shirlu grumbled, crossing his arms grumpily. “Can’t we go there last? I know they don’t exactly like me either.”

Lilyacoo pointed at Anolk. “The faster this guy visits everything, the faster I’ll be done with his hero business, and the faster I’ll get an idea of where to be left on my own, without anyone bothering me. So, for both his sake and mine: no. We’re not skipping anything. Anymore complains?”

“Oh yeah, a few.” Shirlu continued. “Glyph Isle is full of snobbish families of so-called nobles who look down on anyone that doesn’t have a long name, since in their culture long name means big legacy, and big legacy means money, clothing and stupid titles, which is all they care about. It’s annoying.”

“But didn’t you give yourself a title, Shirlu ?” Anolk inquired innocently.”

“Gourmet Blade is a title that’s related to my skills and tastes, and that I earned by being actually good at what I do.” Shirlu replied. “I brag a lot, but I can back my words with actions. They… Ugh, they’re empty. All of them. They’re nothing else but fancy talkers, and I hate them for that and more.”

“Except they’re also darn good spell casters if we don’t pay attention, and many of them are actually dangerous when fighting.” Lilyacoo objected. “I met enough of them in Parry Town to know just how efficient they can be. Shirlu ’s right one thing though: they’re rotten to the core. Like, for real, there’s next to no tourism in their place, so I’m not actually entirely sure how the heck we’re gonna get past the entrance gate. We can’t force our way in like in Blade Isle, either.”

1244 words. Bit more than usual.
And sorry @Tikaya, but no can do♪ Hopefully I'll get back to Monday releases again, but not just yet. You hang in there in the meantime, freakouts and all.
