    BIBLE VERSE OF THE WEEK
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4 (NIV)

The link isn't working so here is my devotion:
Let’s be honest: high school, friend groups, group chats, and social media make it really easy to get hurt.
Maybe it was a friend who left you out of weekend plans. Maybe someone spread a rumor, rolled their eyes at you in the hallway, or a family member said something that completely crushed you. When that happens, a heavy, tight knot forms in your chest. At first, it feels like protection—like holding onto your anger is a shield so no one can hurt you that way again.
But carrying that hurt around? It’s exhausting. It’s like walking around all day with a heavy backpack filled with rocks, wondering why your shoulders and back ache.
We often think forgiveness is saying, "What you did to me was totally fine."
It’s not. Forgiveness doesn't pretend the hurt didn’t happen, and it doesn't mean you have to act like nothing is wrong. Forgiveness is an act of obedience and freedom—it’s choosing to hand the heavy backpack of bitterness over to God and letting Him carry the weight.
Jesus didn't give us a soft suggestion when He talked about forgiveness; He gave us a pathway to peace. Why? Because He knew that holding onto a grudge doesn’t punish the person who hurt you—it just traps you in their mess. When you forgive, you aren't letting them "win." You are deciding that your peace, your heart, and your future are too valuable to be controlled by someone else’s bad choices.
And here is the secret that makes it actually possible: You don't do it in your own strength. You forgive because you have been forgiven so much more by Jesus."Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." — Ephesians 4:32

Does anyone have any tips on writing a Christian novel while having teen romance in it? (Nothing explicit ovi, I don't write or read those types of romance books)

    EveryUsernameTaken replied · Sep 28

Very tough... I'm guessing the setting is modern? I feel a modern setting leaves less room for creativity. I mean you can but I'm feeling a little restricted from leaving you an honest suggest since I don't really know the setting or what your rough plot is (you can pm of you want to talk about it more in depth)

The key is in the tension, or even better, yearning. This can make even the smallest physical parts of the romance (like a kiss, or even just holding hands or getting together) hit HARD. To successfully do it both characters need to have legitimate reasons to not get together, maybe its past prejudices, or it could be a difference in worldview that they have to overcome. This means that when they eventually realize their feelings for each other, these barriers prevent them from doing anything for a good long while (rlly drag this bit out lol so the payoff hits). Other then that, pacing and good plotting is very important to creating a good romance

Something like the book better then the movies is a good example of that tension if you want to take a look (though i'd deff search it up to make sure its something your comfortable reading)

    Hope this helps :)

One of my top 3 faves I'd say! Such a good reminder... He is the vine, we are the branches... God's got us! <3

A pretty wise thought that I just heard on Christian Radio that I thought I'd share ~

"Today may not be good, but in God's goodness there is still some good in today."

    Look for the good.

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)

Thinking about St. Carlo Acutis, knowing that when the Bible talks about where two or more gather, this means high school. Carlo died too young. Carlo meant more than his body could hold. Here is a Saint that endured the same math class we did, one just a bit older than you; maybe you saw him in the halls, by the water fountain. Here is a Saint with an AOL away message. Carlo Acutis died in high school just like so many of us did. I do pray to him, of course.

I reach out to my intercessors during my prayers each night, and sometimes I light a candle for them as well. When you’re Catholic, you tend to inherit intercessors more than you actively seek them out. People my grandma prayed to, people my church prays to. People that aren’t saints and yet, for some reason, intercede very well. The top of my list: Mary of Nazareth, Mary of Magdala, Salome, Claire and Francis, Prisca and Quintilla, Pulcheria, Joseph (for my best friend who loves him), Carlo Acutis <3

Reading Romans repeatedly this summer - > Romans 8 is so powerful.

Romans 8:35-39 especially - "35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."

    Isaiah 6:1-5 <3

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted; and the train of His robe filled the temple. / Above Him stood seraphim, each having six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. / And they were calling out to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Hosts; all the earth is full of His glory.”

At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground.
