How is it decided whether a piece gets gold/silver/bronze? Is it based on the number of likes on the work, or...?

I think the organizer of that event judges @RachelLeeAnn
You know that studded leather armour in films? Nobody wore that. I mean, how would metal studs improve leather armour?

I realize that, if my piece does place, I'll get a notification because my name was tagged. But I can't help but checking anyway, just in case...

It's great to see who did win, too. ^_^

Unfortunately, the Olympics ended already, you arrived a bit too late to join this year! They will happen again sooner or later, though, and if you browse other forums you'll find quite a few other awesome contests which are still ongoing, and you can make your own as well ;)

Also, by all means, feel free to use these events' ideas as writing prompts for stories/novels/poems/scripts/whatever c:

I only know that learning to believe in the power of my own words has been the most freeing experience of my life. It has brought me the most light. And isn't that what a poem is? A lantern glowing in the dark.
