2026 Exquisite Corpse Poetry

deleted48 · 2026-03-27T12:22:10Z

EXQUISITE CORPSE POETRY The Exquisite Corpse is a method where a collection of words or images is collectively assembled. Each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, but they are only allowed to see the final scrap of what the previous person had created. For those who haven't participated in something like this before, it is very simple! One person starts by writing a few lines of a poem. Then, only knowing the last line, the next person has to continue. Since you don’t know what the poem is about, you can't "ruin" it. If you wish to participate, just reply below! Please PM me between 2-4 lines of poetry . There is no "theme" of sorts, but make sure to keep everything YWS-appropriate. When the first round deadline is over, you'll receive a PM from me with the last poetic line of someone else's entry, and it'll be up to you to continue from there. After all the rounds have been completed, I'll post the final products here! DEADLINES Times are adjusted to your local time zone! Sign-up: 04/02/2026 21:00 GMT First round: 04/03/2026 21:00 GMT Second round: 04/10/2026 21:00 GMT Third round: 04/17/2026 21:00 GMT Feel free to comment below with any questions if you have them. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone writes - happy poeting!

Beautiful poems! The ones I contributed to are probably the best things I wrote this April!
