Hello, I'm Noirmont! Call me Noir, Mont, whatever suits your fancy.
I was a floater on this site as an adolescent and just remembered it recently...though it seems to be called something different now, lol! No worries, I can certainly deal with that. I was interested in seeing if the community was still active. While I'm quite occupied with work these days, I'd be interested to read people's work and perhaps even share my own.

I enjoy films, writing, casting (actors, regular folks, anybody who's got pizzaz, I suppose!), I'm a novice crocheter, I do some ariel silks here and there, and I enjoy reading plays :) ask me about any of this stuff if you're so inclined. I'm certainly happy to answer and to get to know you all better.

Excited to cozy up with some tea (as winter approaches!) and explore WriterFeed!

Generally I skew towards poetry and fantasy :) and silks are one to two silk fabrics that hang from the ceiling that you launch yourself into to do tricks with!! It's very taxing and I'm no good at it generally but I enjoy it a lot. Good to meet you! What do you enjoy writing about?

Poetry always shows me the limits of my understanding. It's fascinating to hear people talk about poems but I am content just listening =D

Ohhh I think I know what you mean with the silks, that sounds so cool!! For how long have you been doing that? :3

I like writing fantasy/sci-fi stories with a focus on action :)

That's a great way to look at it (regarding poetry)! I try to just soak up everything I can there. One of the greatest pleasures in getting excited about it was reading Shakespeare and learning how fascinating and nuanced verse can be. But I love prose too! I usually write in prose myself lol.
Those genres are so fun. I'll have to check out your writing! Sci-fi has always been a mystery to me. It's really cool. What inspired your love for it?

As for silks - about a year or so, on and off! When I get busy with work it's harder to maintain because it requires so much upper body strength and the soreness afterwards is pretty gnarly :,) so I've been sticking to calisthenics, pilates and cardio recently haha

Well now I feel like I need to get back to exercising too C:
My friend recommended me some back exercises bc... like most ppl I basically do not have any back muscles lol

I never really read Shakespeare tbh I did read Pride And Predjudice (and wasn't a fan of the language; I do like modern writing xd)
I have found some friends (and one in particular, you know who you are) here on the site who have been instrumental in me thinking harder about poetry and verse and strucutre =D

As for my inspiration... You could say it never evolved, considering I write fanfic of the stuff =D
What are you currently working on?

Back is tough! And exercising keeps me relatively sane, lol. The hardest part is getting started, I find! And when I take multiple rest days not going back is a heck of a lot easier, lol. So I try to stay consistent. But nobody's perfect!

I think it's great how different folks are into different sorts of language. Pride and Prejudice is a classic, but Austen isn't everybody's cup of tea, lol. I actually went to tour her residence in Bath, UK, which was really cool! Everyone was dressed up in Victorian-era costumes and there was a museum attached that I found really interesting.

I'm so happy to hear you've found friends here that have ignited your interest in poetry! I definitely need more people like that. My interest waxes and wanes so sporadically that motivation to write is critical. Luckily in real life I'm in a poetry group and we have a reading session every month or so so I at least get one piece done a month! (We're all required to read, lol.)

For now I'm working on my next poem because our meeting soon approaches...my friends are in the US and I'm studying abroad in the UK currently so I have my partner read my poems at the gatherings, which I appreciate :[i]/i])

What about you? Are you participating in NovMo?
