Basically, 3L (Lambent Lavender Lights) projects i’m going to be working on.

While I will write, I do want focus more to make a longer animation as a form of storytelling. I am not an animator, and the most experience I have of it is with short animatics I made as memes or trailers. And so… I wonder how it will be like to learn animation in 30 days haha..

All the best, Toast! After your NaPo week thread, I think I'll follow your NovMo progress too. I've read some of your prose around the site and am most excited to see what you do this time.

As a poet who tried songs without any prior training not too long ago, I get your nerves perfectly! I hope it works out for you as well as it did for me, I have complete faith in your capabilities <3

Day 1

Progress: 2723 words
Total: 2723 words

Favorite Line: “you are a great listener, and I think that it will be a great strength of yours some day.”

notes:
I didn't do much actual writing, more brainstorming and laying out how I want the story to be written. because i was sick during planmo, this is kinda me just trying to catch up lol. I was able to roadmap all the chapters, and I think that because I tried and rewrote this story so many times, I actually now have a pretty solid idea of how I want this story to flow.
As for drawings, here’s a picture of Null:

Day 2

Progress: 1718 words
Total: 4432 words (The math doesn't add up bc i removed some words)

Favorite Line: ”Do you think we’re being a good influence on her as parents?"
“I think we try to be. And I’d like to think that she can recognize that some day.”

notes:
finished chapter i. lavender.
It was a complete rewrite bc this is essentially a reboot, but i really like where it's going. There's even Sequim, Washington mentioned lol.

Okay, totally didn't expect to see Sequim mentioned, but I am down for that. (Also, that might explain the lavender in the previous picture???)

Hiya! A fellow animator/writer/painter (three ways of crashing-out I guess) here! :-D

Welp, I'm also doing an animated and writing project, not really the same thing, and I'm not going to do it for NovMo. It's a four years project XD.

But yup, I could help you! At least with tips. I did an animated shortfilm, 1 minute long, like 1 year ago, and I do traditional, tweening and I guess I can say 3D animation (I almost burned my computer in Blender bruh).

But yeah, I'm happy seeing animators here! :smt003 :smt003

@Snoink lol, ive sadly never been to the lavender festival at sequim, but i’ve seen so many pictures of it from my other friends who went there! The PNW has some of the prettiest natures out there and I wanted to share it through this story.

@aix woah, that’s amazing that you are working on a long term animation! I feel like I’ve already lost the plot by day two, but a lot of my animations are more like those youtube animatics where it’s just a compilation of drawings fitting the scene rather than full fledged animation. I did try rotating a figure 360 degrees to learn perspective a bit more, and honestly animation is something that’s super cool and awesome but also takes so much commitment to do well

Day 3

Progress: 2258 words
Total: 4223 words (I did some heavy rearranging, so this only counts the words in my folder for Lambent)

Favorite Line: "Like any professional procrastinator would do, I hopped onto bed and started scrolling on my phone."

notes:
finished chapter ii. dream.
another basic complete rewrite. I was debating whether to use irl names for things or not, but ended up going for it since i would better be able to relate to grape juice from safeway rather than grape juice from a non specefic generic grocery chain

Day 4
(?)

Progress: 1558 words
Total: 5780 words

notes:
almost finished chapter iii. evergreens.
new area unlocked: Fremont

Also, at this point, I’m actually trying the challenge to actually reach 50k, which seemed like a pipe dream to me *checks notes* four days ago!

Day 6
(? I really need to stop writing at midnight lol, but that's when i get the most inspo;;;)

Progress: 2317 words
Total: 10309 words (Math isn't mathing because I added some words here and there in my previous chapterss this time.)
Raw Total: 12929 words

Favorite Line:
“What if I get itchy again?”
She stood still for a moment, her arms still covering my wrist. Then, she went to the bathroom and grabbed something from the cabinet. It was a rubber band.
“Here, every time you feel itchy, you can pull this back like this,” she said, demonstrating with a snap. “It will still pain me to see you use this every time. However, you using this will let me put my mind at ease. I know this is a lot for me to ask of you, but can you promise me? Promise that you won’t scratch that itch on your arm so easily. Promise that you’ll yell out to me when you’re drowning in negative thoughts. I’m not sure how much use I’ll be, but I’ll always be here for you. Always.” That night was when I first properly looked at my aunt’s eyes. They were two hazel dots filled with enough compassion to melt any winter away.

notes:
finished chapter iv. draft and v. lichen.

I really need to work on my NovMo earlier, but I keep getting inspiration at 12 am ToT

Progress: 2087 words
Total: 12451 words (Again, math isn't mathing bc i did edits. I think this'll be the last time i'll be mentioning this because I don't think the math will ever math. I'll mention again only if the math starts to math ig lol)
Raw Total: 15016 words

Favorite Line:
It was a night of silence, a night of unfinished math questions, and a night of promises. One of those things would come to bite me in the morning.

notes:
finished chapter vi. promise and vii. fragment.
