Wonderful passionate novel penned by Andre Aciman. I could fall in love with it because it is very beautiful and his writing style stands out. It's a hardcore novel at its core

Has anyone else read it? It's a story of a shared complete serenity and intimacy between a 24 year old man and 17 year old boy in Italy that they may never find again as long as they live. It's completely seductive, even sultry. Summery and breezy. Polished and gritty. Mucho Italiano

Elio, a 17 year old boy lives in Italy in his summer home. Every summer his family allows a budding writer spend a summer at their home to work on their novels just before publishing. Oliver is a 24 yr old American student that comes this time and they become friends to say the least... Read on. Its spectacular

The idea that a poem was a made thing stayed with me, and I decided then that I wanted to be an artist, not just a diarist. So I put myself through a kind of apprenticeship in writing poetry, and I understood even then that my practice as a poet was deeply related to my reading.
