Just in addition, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and the likes are all multi-million to billion-dollar industries. I somehow doubt they're suddenly going to go down without crashing the US economy.

A lot of copyrighted material gets put onto those sites: videos, music, pictures. Unless they can remove every single piece of unauthorized copyrighted property that gets posted or uploaded they can get sued for it because they become liable for what their users do. Something that big can bankrupt them simply because of the sheer number of lawsuits that can come out of the woodwork if this bill gets past, even if they are multi-billion dollar corps. The wellness of the economy is inconsequential in the eyes of greed.

At least, that's what my understanding of the situation is.

AyumiGosu17 wrote:Lumi, I find that comment derogatory and unnecessary. Yes, he did freak out a little bit, but Dynamo is still my friend. Perhaps the primary reason he posted this is for the sake of warning us - his friends - of a possible development in our own country.

So, Dynamo, THANK YOU for bringing it to my attention, if no one else's.

I understood it as Lumi talking about Bieber :)

It's all sorted out, AB. ;) No worries.

And just for the record, yes. It was Bieber.

This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much all of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movement of small green pieces of paper, which was odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.
