Nic I bury my face in her hair and tighten my grip, relaxing slightly.

Nic Finished, I head back down and take Jackie in my arms.

Nic I kiss her forehead and make my way around the house, locking every door and window like i said.

Nic I rub her back and swallow, "I'm going to lock all the doors and windows, okay? I'll be right back."

Nic I nod and take a deep breath, closing my eyes and holding her close again.

Nic I nod and kiss her quickly, holding her close, "As long as you're safe. I-I'll get you another ring. Doesn't matter. That can be replaced. You and Halee can't."

Nic I check her hand before kissing her forehead, "But you and Halee are okay, right? He didn't hurt you two?"

Nic I sit up and take her in my arms, "Who? What happened?"

Nic I sigh and close my eyes, listening to the t.v.
