WeepingWisteria

Nahi sighed. “Nothing I say will convince you, huh?”

“Even still. What if something happens? It’s too much of a risk.”

“I don’t want to be the reason why you’re hurt.”

Nahi cringed. “But… You saw. You’ll have to deal with people like him all year. And he’s low on the food chain.”

Nahi shook their head. “You don’t have to. You can set me down. I’ll get out of the way. It’s fine. I’ve already caused you enough trouble.”

Nahi shook their head. “No. No it’s okay. It’s fine. You didn’t… have to do anything. You… caught me. And that’s already enough.”

Pain bloomed across her lip before they could even register what was happening. They could taste the metal tang of blood as they covered their mouth, shame making their cheeks ...

Nahi felt the hit land, flinching and falling silent.

Nahi did not like the looks of that one bit. Nope. “Okay, okay. Can we all just… calm down a little bit? There’s no need for anyone to get hurt.”

Nahi flushed. "Justice is not a bloodthirsty pursuit."

Nahi sighed. "I'm just trying to avoid unnecessary confrontation."

"We don't know if we're roommates yet. And can't you take one day off, Bosch? Please?"

Nahi sighed. "Can we not do this today? You know we can't be roommates."

Nahi looked up to see who had tripped them and wanted to die immediately. "Bosch."

Nahi froze. Did... did Shara just... pick them up in a bridal carry? Huh? What? When? Who?
