WeepingWisteria

Onni and Sylvie approached the base of the tree. There, mostly hidden in the branches, was a giant house. A rope hung from the front door with a sign attached ...

Onni sighed. "Hopefully, Not-a-squirrel-Brian helps us out some, then."

"I think that's low-balling it. Mia loves to talk to people. She's much better at it than us." Onni laughed. "And who wouldn't want to talk to her?"

Onni snorted. "She was always a nerd like that. I love her for it. How many dead architectures do you think she's talked to so far?"

Onni whistled a little tune and swung eir hands. "It's beautiful down here. I'm sure Mia's having a grand time."

Onni grinned. "I'm counting on it."

Onni sighed. "I'll kiss you again afterward, okay?" Ey laced their fingers together again and started towards Not-a-squirrel-Brian's treehouse.

Onni rested eir head on her chest. "As much as I love this and you, I'm afraid we need to go find Probably-not-a-squirrel-Brian."

Onni laughed into the kiss and wrapped eir arms around Sylvie's shoulders.

Onni hummed in consideration. "Maybe one more for the road."

Onni giggled and kissed her.

"Kiss me, so my heart will know it wasn't abandoned, and I may heal." Onni couldn't stifle eir grin.

Onni sighed, dramatically falling into Sylvie's arms. "It is too late. The damage is done." Ey closed eir eyes as if ey had fainted. Ey opened one eye. "But there ...

Onni frowned. "Wow. Betrayed by my lover in my hour of need. Who will help you find Brian now that you've left me sick and dying?"

Onni groaned. "What court of law decided to let me talk to people? Dead or otherwise?"
