A Dragonet is lost in the Ziptar Woods as an electric storm rages over head and the NightMouth stalks from the shadows, thirsty for dragon blood.

A thundering roar ripped through the night air. Scorpus decided that it was coming from the east of the island and started to move towards the sound.

Red glowing eyes staring straight into your soul and sharp bat-like ears tracking every move he made. A shiver ran down Zoltar's spine.

But, bringing the Howler Dragons into it could just make things worse. You know what happened the Lightning Talons. I don’t think this is a good idea.

The figure’s eyes were like burning pools of red flame that gleamed in the darkness of the room, a raging fire that could swallow your soul forever.

I am Krakatoa, leader of the Howler Dragons. Why do you not bow?

If you don’t return within a year, the Shadow Talons will have to announce war against the Moon Talon tribe. You have until next autumn.

Suddenly there was a splash from below Zoltar. He flinched as the large, dark shadow of a slender sea creature passed underneath him.

Felistia was standing in the far corner, her scales gleaming like white gold in the flame’s orange glow. Next to her was a burly Sea Talon.

Suddenly there was a crash from behind him and something leapt onto his back, knocking him to the ground. “Don’t move,” the something hissed.

One false move and I’ll send my fangs straight through your neck. The poison is fast acting and you’ll be dead in a few seconds, so don’t try anything

Suddenly something seized his neck and slammed him to the rock floor, making his head spin. “Who are you!” the dragon demanded.

But we can’t trust him. He’s a Shadow Talon.

The sea of scowling faces bore down on Zoltar as he walked through the hazy town. Dragons were snarling and growling at him.

Flexing his talons, Zoltar crouched and with a mighty roar he leapt over it, catapulting into a green ball of scales.

Emerald looked him slyly, “Oh? And what sort of issues do you have to take care of?”

“Hey. You two,” one of the Wisp Talons shouted.

“SOME DRAGONS!” Shiraku thundered. “Let me rephrase that,” Zoltar quickly backpedalled.

Zoltar could hear the Fangtar’s angry roars echoing through the forest a few miles away. They had to hurry.

"F-Felistia?" Zoltar started shakily, dreading the answer he was going to get, "Have you decided whether you want to go back to the Ice Kingdom?"

Our group carries on across the continent of Megalonia on their way to the Ice Kingdom.

“I will not let you steal the Thunder Opal. It belongs to my kind, not a scum sucking Shadow Talon like you,” Felistia snarled.

They’d nearly reached their home on the far side of the mountain when the earth began to shake.

“You m-must go on,” Zoltar hissed through gritted teeth, “We don’t have much time. It’s coming.” “What? What’s coming?” Mouzan asked.

As if sensing his stare the Shyfu turned their gaze and fixed him with their pitch black eyes, hissing in their shrill voices.

Zoltar’s sharp hearing picked up on the faint knocking of claws on dirt as a shadow slid pasting the tunnel outside his room.

Straining his ears, Zoltar hurried towards the sound. “…Yes, I know it wouldn’t work Hisster. The island isn’t large enough.”

After a long break from this story I've come back to it. In this first chapter we meet Zoltar the Shadow Talon and his tribe.
