30,000 Posts!

Nate · 2005-04-21T06:06:36Z

Didn't notice it until now, but YWS now has over 30,000 posts! Plus, the site looks set to hit the 50,000 mark sometime in mid to late June! Most sites take a year or more to reach that mark, and YWS will only have been opened for eight months once the 50,000 mark is reached :P It's also looking like the registered user count is coming along very nicely as well, and YWS should hit the 400 mark sometime in early May. That's really good, especially considering that the site is not listed on google, and very poorly listed on Yahoo (although MSN ranks YWS very, very well), so that user growth is pretty much just word of mouth. Also, 75% of all registered users have made at least one post (most forums are more like 40%), with a bit more than a third of those visiting every day. Given all that, YWS should be going strong for many years to come and will definitely not peter out anytime soon! Heh... I remember when the site had 19 registered users and something like 200 posts (about a quarter of those were mine too), and I thought that was great! Seems so small now, lol

Wow, it seems like only yesterday I was member #52 on a chilly night just like this and one of the more recent topics was "I made the 1000th post." Can't claim to go as far back as EBM though.

Anyway, areida's right we do need a gift:

I can remember there being around 25 members. But instantly I thought it would do well. Otherwise I wouldn't have stayed

I third that remark to Brad.

Anywa, congrats Nate. And I can see why this site has been so successful, though. It's far better than TYWC ever was. I'm really loving it.

Please, sit down before you fall down.
