You cling to my spine,
Warmth inviting
But not like a summer day.
Rather, it's unnatural.
It's scary,
For it's the ghost of you.

Your lips invade my dreams,
soaking my brain like red wine,
Memories bleeding.
Vivid.
Close.
Too close.

Tears prick my eyes as I emerge,
Another horrible night,
And I see the ghost of you.

Hi shayspeare! I'm really happy you decided to jump into NaPo this year! I think you're off to a great start with this poem, and I look forward to seeing what other poems you post in this thread. In this poem, you've got some really vivid physical imagery - "You cling to my spine" especially is such a good opener. I also like your use of short sentence fragments, like "Vivid. Close. Too close."; they add an intense energy to the poem. Good luck with the rest of NaPo!
When you're faced with something you don't understand, I think the most natural thing but also least interesting thing you can be is afraid.

You walk into this room at your own risk, because it leads to the future, not a future that will be but one that might be. This is not a new world, it is simply an extension of what began in the old one. It has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted the ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time. It has refinements, technological advances, and a more sophisticated approach to the destruction of human freedom. But like every one of the super states that preceded it, it has one iron rule: logic is an enemy and truth is a menace.
