true said and the words are even sadder than the moral. You need to make a poem book. or become a songwriter for one thing.

Thank you very much, lele253isme! I've considered maybe self-publishing some of my work! And as for songwriting, I'm hoping I'll meet the right people for that at some point! ;)

This is so goooooood!!
I just joined YWS so i'm just getting a feel for the kinda things people write on here, and i've looked at a lot of writings today and WOW. This was my favorite so far! You got it just right - the imperfection of someone you love, the longing to promise forever but knowing you cant... all of it was just so realistic. You didn't just write it. - you felt it. And that comes across so definitely. I'm in love with this poem!!!!!
I'm with emmaline49 - can i know you when you're famous too?? haha(:

PurpleHeart, I believe you just made my day! :) It warms my heart greatly to come home, log on to YWS, and see positive and touching feedback on my work!

Haha, and yes, the very second I become famous, I'll let you and emmaline49 know! ;)

Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.
