Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream

Last night,
I had the strangest dream,
I tried to kill myself,
I couldn’t,
But I tried
 
A cold hard gun,
Pushed into my mouth,
The trigger pulled,
The bullet came out
 
The backside of my head,
I fell to the floor,
Felt nothing,
No brains splattered across the floor,
 
Gun in my hand,
Bullet, body, floor,
My thoughts, undisturbed, untainted, racing
I couldn’t get up,
Please not again,
I was afraid, out of strength
 
I couldn’t be here,
I couldn’t die,
I lay wasting,
I couldn’t decide
 
The ultimate choice of freedom,
 A dream at work,
A dark path to undertake,
A difficult choice to make,
 
I crossed a new threshold,
In my dream,
I did something that in reality I would not,
Yes,
Last night,
