This is my NovMo project: Part 2 of World of Souls
I didn't plan on making this a second part. But... the focus is so different from what came before that it is basically a book 2, of sorts. You'll see if you finish reading WoS Part 1 :)
Elevator Pitch
After five Japanese children were lured into the Digital World with promises ranging from "You'll find your destiny" to "Actually I didn't even wanna come here in the first place", things did smooth out a little. After all, the whole reason they've been summoned seems to be this mysterious Forest Terminal which is now within their grasp!
But... it turns out that the rumors of people randomly disappearing in and around Forest Terminal have not been greatly exaggerated. Now, the five main characters plus the digimon that they literally recruited yesterday have gone ahead and disappeared themselves without ever reaching the destination! Stuck on a strange island that devours souls, they quickly find themselves embroiled in a massive civil war fought between Human digimon and Beast digimon. All the while, time on their actual quest is running out!

Side Characters
For the duration of the Island Arc, we're going to stick with some very important digimon living on the Island.
Most of them are too embroiled in the war with the opposing side to have dreams beyond crushing the opposition. But the children Bearmon and Kotemon are working on undermining the war from the inside, secretly becoming friends and fostering friendships between the children of the Human and Beast digimon.
But things might all be for naught as there's an entity on the Island that strives of conflict and despair who wishes to harvest the negative emotions of everyone involved to bring its own plot to fruition. Something that could have consequences beyond this isolated Island....
Most Challenging Character
To my horror, the most challenging character right now is First Person Narrator Zoe! I can't seem to nail down her voice while also advancing the plot :(
Worldbuilding Secrets
I'm excited to talk about the fact that there might exist more than one Digital World! And that the most important enemy of the Island Arc is tied to the World of Hearts with a power set completely new to the main characters!
We are also gonna revisit the Ancient Times from the Prologue of World of Souls, continuing just after ElementalIrismon/AncientIrismon delivered her message about the Merchants of Misery :3

I think the vibes are distinctly ochre for this one, given how we are diving into the Ancient History for this one~

Inciting Incident
Given the murky status of this project, I think I don't really have a regular "inciting incident" here...
But the MC's digimon recruit could view being dragged along into such an ancient and historic setting as a great boon. And that living through historic times is quite the challenge.
(Yes, Gotsumon, this entire Arc exists to show off your skillset. Now make the most out of it or perish!)
