Tommy Phan writes dective novels, a shame to his family for casting off the old world ways, is about to get a surprise. But not all surprises are good. A ragdoll left on your doorstep may seem like a mistake, or the beginning of an adventure.

Ticktock covers twelve hours in two hundred something pages in which you follow Tommy Phan and the interesting Del Payne as they run for their lives.

The Deadline is Dawn
Tick tock.
I just lost the game.

"The trouble with Borrowing another mind was, you always felt out of place when you got back to your own body, and Granny was the first person ever to read the mind of a building. Now she was feeling big and gritty and full of passages. 'Are you all right?' Granny nodded, and opened her windows. She extended her east and west wings and tried to concentrate on the tiny cup held in her pillars."
