Rayah

I swallow, "I don't like it when people yell at me and then leave...No one does." I try to explain.

Jace

I shake my head and look away, "You were sad, Ray. No one is sad when the person yelling at them leaves."

Rayah

"Well...Maybe I was for that second." I admit, sighing.

Jace

I swallow, "You didn't tell him anything. Why didn't you tell him you had kids at least?"

Rayah

"Because I just didn't..." I swallowed. "I don't have a reason."

Jace

I close my eyes and set my forehead against my knees.

"Be honest with me, Ray. Do we even stand a chance?"

Rayah

I nod, "Of course we do. If we don't...What are we going to do? We have kids, Jay." I told him.

Jace

I sigh, the emotions inside of me going haywire.

"Then I want to know one thing," I say, "How far did you go with him?"

Rayah

I swallow, "What do you mean, 'How far'?" I ask nervously.

Jace

I swallow, taking a fist full of grass.

"Did you kiss him...sleep with him...How far did it go?" I ask.

Rayah

"It was farther than kissing..." I sigh. "I slept with him once. We were gonna go to his place tonight..." I choked, looking down.

Jace

I feel my heart sink in my chest, my eyes burning again.

"W-why?"

Rayah

I shrug, "We just were." I said, and keep looking down.

Jace

I bite my tongue. God, why? I look up and then at her.

"I-I'm not sure I can work past that," I say, my voice shaking.

Rayah

"So...Your saying we're a 'no'?" I clarify, frowning, glancing in at the kids.
