Lucian

I sit up and look at her, "Is it your stomach?"

Halee

I nod and swallow.

Lucian

I scoop her up and slowly bring her to the bathroom, sitting behind her and holding up her hair.

Halee

I double over and bring a hand to my stomach.

Lucian

I swallow and rub her back in comfort, hating this.

Halee

I wrap both my arms around my stomach, coughing.

Lucian

I comfort her as much as I can, not sure what else I could do.

Halee

I lean back a little once I'm done and take a deep breath.

Lucian

I wrap an arm around her and kiss the back of her neck.

Halee

I relax and close my eyes, swallowing.

Lucian

I hold her against me and close my eyes, taking a deep breath.

Halee

I sigh, "I'm not sleeping tonight."

Lucian

I glance at her and move her air back from her face, "Why do you say that?"

Halee

"Because then I'll have to keep doing this," I say, "Every thirty minutes. Because the baby is being a b*tch and won't settle for morning."

Lucian

"T-the baby's not being a b*tch..." I argue innocently, "And I don't think it's supposed to last all day."
