Grayson

I swallow and take her in my arms, wiping her eyes.

Riley

I swallow, my wings twitching, and close my eyes.

Grayson

I hold her, waiting for her to stop crying, and close my eyes to suppress my own emotion.

Riley

I soon stop, the shadows covering us in the room.

Grayson

I hold her close and look to where Mariah is, swallowing.

Riley

I sniffle and hold my wrist, it hurting.

Grayson

I look down at her wrist, "W-why'd you do that, Rye? What's wrong?"

Riley

I swallow, "I-I've been hurting."

Grayson

I study her, "W-why didn't you tell me? Where? What hurts?"

Riley

I hesitate, before wiping off the makeup on my eye and showing him a black one. I then show him my torso, revealing a bruise there.

Grayson

I trace her black eye gently with my thumb and look down at her torso, "Who hit you, Riley?"

Riley

I shake my head, "It's fine."

Grayson

I gently cup her chin and make her look at me, "Who hit you? I won't let them touch you again."

Riley

I swallow, not saying anything.

Grayson

I let her go and shake my head, "Why won't you let me stop the pain, Riley? I don't want this happening to you again."
