When I can’t sleep I feed the monster under my bed
Most think it’s weird
Most think I should be afraid of it
But I’m not Most
It wasn’t until most girls in my grade had developed boobs when I realized it was weird
Then again I’m not Most so I didn’t have boobs, was that why I didn’t find it weird?
I fed that monster anything I had
My hopes and dreams or failures and dispares
It ate up
all of it
until I had none of it.
I had nothing more to feed it and nothing more to feed myself
That was when it got mad, out of control even
I knew I shouldn’t have fed the monster from the start
But it looked so tempting and hungry one bite shouldn’t have hurt
It came back for more, and I wanted to feed it more
Once my heart, soul, and hands had nothing to give
it took from my body
Bruises to scratches to cuts
Cuts so deep not even time could heal.
This monster isn’t your typical long, outstretched, shadow creature
It was a beautiful blade

Holy crap this took the breath from my lungs!! This was beautiful and so easy to imagine!!! I love this, and the imagery is beautiful!!!!!! I relate very much, and you are so well written. My only advice would be to keep the language simple and not over explain yourself too, too much so your audience and easily comprehend and your beautiful words can flow!! Good job my friend, keep up the writing!
