Is it enough to make you think?

E - Everyone

In poems of a milk alien

PreviousNext

Humanity.
Too curious.
Too furious.

We ask things we shouldn't,
Bother with things that couldn't exist if we wouldn't.

Make problems we don't need,
And always leave them be.

These problems will solve themselves, right?
Peace, power, money, or the natures light.
We say we care, we say we try,
Yet all we do about it is whine and cry.

Instead of everyone's happiness,
We lean towards selfishness.
AI, labubus, bodies full of chemicals,

You call one plastic,
yet you use plastic all the time.
Does it matter if they do that much?
After all, you use plastic in your everyday life.

This is the world we built with our bare hands,
Like an artist trying to destroy the painting they once loved but now hate.

We hate everything,
everyone,
What made us,
what loves us,
what keeps us alive.

All bodies are beautiful.
They really are.
Yet your words are pure lies.

You see what you want to,
Delete what you don't.
Are all bodies really beautiful to you?
Or do you just cleanse all natural?

Beauty by nature,
Disgust by it's creature.

You say you want to help,
Yet you never try.
So why bother?
We might as well all die.

Woah. This is such a beautiful and raw piece. I think it really shows the true side of the world. I normally don't like poems but this really caught my attention. And, might I add, the line,
"You see what you want to,
Delete what you don't.
Are all bodies really beautiful to you?
Or do you just cleanse all natural?"
It just hits so hard these days. It sort of brings awareness to how damaging social media can be, particularly to young minds and bodies. Thank you for sharing this piece!

Can I first say that I really love this? Cause I do. It is bitter and sour but in a way that screams how much you care and love. It is that rage and bitterness that comes from knowing that things could be better and the frustration that no one seems willing to work for it. I adore the way in which you articulate the emotion, like grief in a way, the pain of not wanting to fight for something no one will appreciate. "Beauty by nature, Disgust by it's creature" is such a raw line. "We hate everything" "We might as well die", you speak bluntly and while a reader may take you at your word, I see more, a depth, whether intended or not. If "we hate everything" equates to "we might as well die" than you speak of love being life, because the opposite must also be true. You paint a feeling of adoration by using negative terms like when an artist must draw the shadows and outline of an egg on white paper because the egg itself is white.
I hope you understand my ramblings, I tried to be as coherent as possible while conveying my joy of your work, though it may have fallen through the cracks. Overall, brilliant piece and the only not I would have for future consideration is when doing poetry is to find your rhythm. I noticed part had a rhyme scheme and part was freestyle, I believe choosing one would strengthen the emotion you present by avoiding taking the reader out of the art.
Have a wonderful day and keep writing!!!
