In Scary Stories Up To Halloween

PreviousNext

It was a misty night,
Kids in their beds all wrapped and tight.
The cornfield sat all alone,
Halloween was arriving with a skull and a bone.
It was a giant patch of field,
You walk in, and you get sealed.
You know, the terrors await,
Ready for you to come in for bait.

  Tales say ghosts lurk,
While others say the scarecrows smirk.
You and your friends show up,
You take a sip of beer in your cup.
Your friend told you to come along.
Even though you know it’s wrong,
It felt like your friend was holding you by tongs.

  The cornfield, you head inside,
All the corn, straight and aligned.
You get really deep in there,
Suddenly, you hear a tear.
You look around,
Looking for what’s there.
But you see nothing.

  You see a scarecrow,
Next to it, lies an arrow.
The scarecrow frowns,
Freaking you out.
You scream,
But no one hears you.

  You run away from it,
You realize you and your friends have split.
You look back,
The scarecrow is now gone.
You hear a whisper in your ear,
Falling back on your rear.
The pain goes through your body,
And you look up, there is nobody.

You stand up, holding your butt,
You walk along, finding a hut.
There’s a dim light inside,
A photo hanging on the wall of a tide.
You go inside, a man is there.
He looks old, but you couldn’t care.
He tells you to leave,
You disobey, and sit and stay.

  The man yells at you,
He counts to three, starting at two.
You exit the hut,
The man follows behind.
He starts chasing you around the corn,
You escape from him, but you are warned.
You start heading towards the exit,
But you realize, where is the exit?

You head in a random direction,
Hoping you are done with this section.
You hear loud screams,
Praying it isn’t your team.
You hear a sound behind you,
When you look back,
A ghostly figure is there.
It grabs your legs and drags you somewhere.
No one hearing your screams…
