“Amias, stop! Look at what you’ve done! Stop it!” A voice cried out, pulling him away.
Amias blinked. In one moment, he was leaving the circus tent where Mr. Callisto waited, and in another, he was tearing through the faces of the audience. Adults, children.
Jace.
Sylvia held onto him, Milan looked at him in concern. Sylvia was the one calling out for him to stop, to cease his rampage.
Amias’s skin was obscenely pale, but beginning to dim.
“Look, he’s not a clown anymore! He’s turning back to normal!” Milan cried out with joy.
Clown? Mr. Callisto had turned him into a…monster clown? With a poisoned corn dog?
“Yeah, you’re right. He’s coming back.” Sylvia remarked.
Coming back? Did he really look like a rabid animal?
Amias looked down at his bloody clothes. He remembered screams, but he also remembered a few people escaping without so much as a scratch.
But still, he attacked.
Tears welled from Amias’ eyes. All of those families, all of those children. Gone because of his hunger.
“No, no. Don’t cry. That wasn’t you back there. We’ll figure it out. We’ll find out why this happened.” Milan said soothingly.
“But my parents-“
“Don’t need to know right now. I’m sure they’d understand that it’s not normal for someone to turn into a clown and attack people, that something was done to you. If they send you off to fend for yourself, then I’ll take you in. Or Sylvia. We’re going to get the bottom of this, Amias. We’re going to fix this.” Milan said.
As much as he wanted to believe her words, he still tasted the blood of those who had hopes, dreams, aspirations, and desires, all gone in a flash.
“I still killed them. I still took their lives. What does it matter if you still care about me? You’re wrong for doing so.” Amias stammered.
Every word was a stab at his heart, but it was the truth. He couldn’t let them stay, not with what he was.
“You’re back now. You’re yourself now. Milan is right, there’s always a solution.” Sylvia said.
Sylvia and Milan helped carry him up, and together, they walked out of the carnival.
They seem so sure of themselves. That everything will be okay. Why can’t I just believe them? Amias thought to himself.
He could still sense Mr. Callisto hiding behind the colored circus tents, that he was watching from the sidelines, but less so. Those that loved him helped him up, were walking away from the horrors with him.
And despite it all, Amias found himself smiling.

Hi! Here to review this chapter of your story.
I find the story somewhat interesting, but I don't like Amias's reaction, and the ones of his companions, to returning to normal. They need pauses, they need silence. He just did something horrific, something completely awful. He can't draw any conclusions yet. He might be confused about what happened, perhaps not even knowing what caused his transformation. The ending might end up being slower to create more drama. Sylvia and Milan seem very optimistic, too much so for this situation.
But the idea itself is good. I like it!
I hope this helps!
