Houston has a reputation as a city you cannot visit without a car. That reputation is about ten years out of date — at least for a well-planned weekend based in the centre.
Your spine is the METRORail. The Red Line stitches together Downtown, Midtown, the Museum District and the Texas Medical Center, which between them hold most of what a first-time visitor wants: the museum cluster, Hermann Park, the zoo, and more restaurants than a weekend can hold. Trains are frequent, stations are simple, and a day pass costs less than parking once.
Your second layer is the bayou trails. Buffalo Bayou Park gives you miles of walking and cycling between downtown views and green banks — rent a bike share near the park, ride to the cistern and the skate park, and you have seen the city's favourite outdoor room without a single traffic light.
Your third layer is walking shoes and short rideshares. Rice Village, Montrose and the Heights are each compact enough to explore on foot once you arrive; a five-minute ride between districts replaces the old hour of parking.
Base yourself near a Red Line station, plan one district per half-day, and let the car people circle for parking. Route ideas and district guides live at Houston Stories. Houston on foot is not the hard mode — it is the edit where the city actually makes sense.

I’m really interested in public transportation (yes, I do watch all Not Just Bikes videos xp) and everytime I hear any story about the Public Transport in the US it makes me feel relief that I’m not living there. Yes, our trains are always late, we have massively neglected the public transportation sector…but at least we CAN use trains and busses without feeling like third class citizens or mad.

For an essay/article I feel this is a bit too barebones. You didn’t really explain what ride shares are and how they mean you are NOT taking a car. You also didn’t talk about how SAFE it is to go on foot.
It’s also pretty obvious that you used AI to generate this. Per the site rules, you need to declare your usage of AI.
