What To Do

The numbness that comes,
When emotions battle.
Much like
The death of two countries,
When their troops
Meet on neutral grounds to war.

Maybe if I ignored one,
The other would relieve me.
But then....
Is any option,
Quite feasible?
Do I care too much?
Probably.
So then stop caring!
Not quite so easy.

Sigh.
Bend.
Fold.
Wait.
I’ll just wait-
Wait for the sun.
It won’t be long,
Before it surfaces from the clouds-
Maybe.

The title is a bit off so any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks :)

The day, which was one of the first of spring, cheered even me by the loveliness of its sunshine and the balminess of the air. I felt emotions of gentleness and pleasure, that had long appeared dead, revive within me. Half surprised by the novelty of these sensations, I allowed myself to be borne away by them, and forgetting my solitude and deformity, dared to be happy.
— Mary Shelley, Frankenstein
