Our narrator sits down in their rolly chair. They stare at the blank screen.
Then they begin to type.
"I review in the Green Room often,
You see me reviewing poetry all the time
Yet, I only get 125 points per poem.
I plan to prove the system wrong.
How much utter crap can I pour into this?
Lets find out."
Our narrator spins in their chair.
They start humming a song about riptides.
A light bulb goes off and they start typing.
"Alright, so I absolutely HATE the dentist.
I will make myself throw up so I don't have to go to the dentist.
I'm not scared of the dentist.
Okay, maybe a little.
But seriously.
The dentist sucks."
Our narrator pauses. Hits backspa
"But you know what else sucks?
Typing.
tyling is ridcouly hard.
i cant type for the life of ne without autocorrecy.
spellings it alresdy really hard.
then you add in a tiby keyboard aand bug fingers."
Our narrator pauses and looks at their fingers.
"Okay, maybe my fingers aren't that big.
Piano fingers.
But they're big enough a tiny phone keyboard is the worst."
Our narrator stands up.
They nearly fall over.
'stupid bruised brain,' they mutter.
Then they sit back down and glare at the keyboard.
They pick at the ghost sticker that's peeling off of the wall.
"Ghosts.
Ghosts.
I'm a ghost.
I go to ghost school.
Today we have to scare someone.
Well, I've been trying to scare people for a while now.
But no luck.
I'm going to fail ghost school.
Again.
I've only been held back two years."
Our narrator blinks.
A fly buzzes in their ear.
They smack it.
"Hmm.
We're at 283 words now.
I wonder if we can crack 400.
Let's see--chickens have been mentioned-- write about--chickens have been mentioned--i need to--chickens have been mentioned--what on earth?
Chickens have been mentioned?
That's a new one.
Hrm.
Error codes.
Okay, so error codes.
I get many.
Normally they're
You cannot make a post so soon after your last.
Or.
--chickens have been mentioned--
Or.
Your wifi has shut down indefinitely.
Don't ask about that one."
A red error code flashes across the computer.
Our narrator sighs.
"And it happened again."
They stand back up.
Nearly fall over.
A song about a mom asking her daughter what she had done starts playing downstairs and our narrator immediately starts singing along.
BANG, BANG, BANG
Someone from downstairs shouts.
"SHUDDAP!"
Our narrator begins to sing even louder.
Their voice cracks as they try to hit the high notes.
The narrator sits back down in their chair and continues singing as they type.
"Today was rather interesting.
I was told that oboes will never ever be in tune.
Which is true.
There's a reason that the entire orchestra tunes to the oboe.
And I mean the entire orchestra.
Suck it harp!"
The banging below subsides and our narrator starts singing softly to the newest song that's playing.
"Let us see.
We are at 502 words now.
I have to break the system you see.
Oh dear reader if you have read all the way through this I pity you.
What a load of crap.
But I must break the system and truly, reader.
There's only one other thing that I could write more than this about.
And that is hidden deep down.
And that is--chickens have been mentioned--"
Our narrator pauses.
They stare at the screen.
They hit backs
Then they hover over Continue To Details.
"But reader--chickens have been mentioned-- I must truly pity you.
For this is the biggest piece of bullshit I've ever written.
I must break the system you see.
And only true bullshit will break it."
Our narrator hits Continue To Details.

Why must you prove the system wrong? For me I'm questioning this.

I get the feeling that this is you. Because I know you review in the Greem Room often. So don't think I didn't suspect this was you.
My favorite lines are

"We are at 502 words now.
I have to break the system you see."
Just from the mention of 502 words I have been summoned. But I'm confused didn't you break the system already? Nevermind that. I love words

The narrator is a version of me. Most of their chaos in this poem is based on things that actually happen in my life. I did break the system with this poem. But when I was writing it I didn't know if it would be enough. So I wrote random gibberish in an attempt to raise the end point count

Sladesheppard replied · Oct 7

Well,if you mention words I'm summoned

ArdenJinn replied · Oct 7

*scribbles that down* I shall remember that

Honestly loved this, it was hilarious to read and something that I absolutely loved seeing on here. Congrats on breaking the system! (Now to see if I can actually earn the 127 points...) anyway fantastic job.
I was laughing so hard at the lines

Like honestly this is true and so ridiculously scatterbrained that it makes for an amazing experience to read if you are someone who thinks similarly. I also genuinely enjoyed the bit where you wrote

We're at 283 words now.
I wonder if we can crack 400.

I applaud what you wrote and hope you write more unique stuff in the future! Like why on earth did chickens have to be mentioned? What about error codes?? I have so many questions! XD

We are at 502 words now.

These two sections I am quoting are also very amusing like yes, this was a lot to read but also truly amusing and anyone who does finish it is truly blessed (I count myself among the blessed ;) just kidding though)

Then they hover over Continue To Details.

The only truly pesky bit (if that because it still adds character to the poem) that I found was that the areas you had 'backspace' typed it was not the full word but I truly did not mind. Once again great job and I look forward to potentially reviewing your work in the future!

I definitely count you among the blessed. I'm glad you found this funny! Being a scatterbrained person makes for interesting poetry.
