This is for a young woman
Aged enough to reflect upon her thoughts.

Smiles through her heart,
Shimmers through her soul,
Seeks through her mind,
Softens through her life.

Scorches like a flame unclaimed,
Shields like a stalwart,
Strikes like a sentinel,
Reigns through her quiet wisdom.

The sun rises to brighten her day,
The stars hold steady to still her thoughts,
The sky widens to shape her life,
The storm spirals to grant her solitude.

She loves to know the world,
But never lets the world read her.
Never an overthinker,
Yet she keeps every word
Of the ones she loves.

She believes forlornness are what she deserves,
Only to be proven wrong
By joy that finds her anyway.

The spark of a fire,
The drizzle of a storm,
The draft of an unfinished book —
All of it is her.

She never had a favourite;
She always had the best.

You're wrong about humanity. They are your greatest creation because they're better than you are. Sure, they're weak, and they cheat and steal and destroy and disappoint, but they also give and create, and they sing and dance and love. Above all, they never give up.
