Meet me by the largest pyre,
Don’t be late, I’ll wait the while
You bring the wood, I bring the fire,
So early rises the broken pile.

The flesh returns to the Earth
And mind and soul are of afar
High and mighty, lost its worth,
Bones and eyes shall melt to stars.

Skin to pelt, flesh to soil,
Eyes to sand, heart to bloom,
Wretched soul, snake and coil,
Buried by only heartless tomb.

Grass was game once upon a time,
Now stains blood on soiled sand,
Four to hold this delicate rhyme,
To bless this haunted, injured land,

Rain is what cleans scribbled slate,
Innocence living on borrowed hand,
One to break and make a fate,
Tied by thread and by bare band.

Hope to lose what little remains,
Lost to restore and balance the beams
Dark is the birth and light the bane,
Before a trail of broken dreams.

One for the neck, one for the ear,
The gentle cradle of a loving bud,
To silence its cries and hide its fear,
To eat its eyes and drink its blood—

One to hide from nothing at all,
Nothing to fear but glitch and growl
Who has cruel fate and star enthralled
Consumed the earth by ravenous bowel.

For the Earth’s paint and eyes,
For the cuts and petals that gnaw
For shy whispers and biting lies
To sacrifice heart to claw and maw

To give to the lost, give to the Null,
To break a solemn, wounded vow,
To give it away, cold moon full,
So tell me who’s the villain now?

When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
