I have grown weary of the world -
Nasty, greedy, wild.
So, my friend,
Pick up the knives thou hid beneath the mattress,
The shards of glass from those bleeding orbs of thine.
Gather them all,
And come with me.
Hold my hand, and we shall witness
All the misery hidden beneath.
Cut, cut, cut -
Split it open as deeply as thou desirest.
Thine is the earth, thine alone.
Let us find the maggots hiding from us.
Whence came they?
We shall end them here.
Take my hand, my friend.

This is sick. I really enjoyed it cause it has a lot of deeper meaning in it. I feel it is something a lot of people understand and feel similarly about - myself included. The imagery in this is insane and I love it. It is the kind that makes your skin crawl but in the good way. I have reread this like three times more and I feel like I just love it more each time. The fact that you very openly use more disturbing imagery just really helps to get your point across. I feel like it adds a lot to the point the writer is done and has gotten to their breaking point. The wording is refreshing to. I miss seeing old timey words in writing, especially writing like this. It almost gives the feeling of being pushed back in time to when the world was worse off, similar to how the writing seems to be describing a world that's becoming worse and worse. Continuing to refer to the reader as "my friend" also makes this even better because I just feel more involved in what I'm reading and end up feeling like I am experiencing something similar. Your imagery and wording speaks volumes and I feel like it is a big part of what makes me like this writing as much as I do. This was super cool and I loved reading this. I would definitely read more stuff like this in the future and hope to see more of your writing!
Aww thank you soo much! 💓
This is dark, but I love the maggot imagery, it's so gross but works so well. It is overall good and worth rereading!
Glad you liked it, thanks! 🌷
