My planet: a leaf.
How little less, how little gigantic.
By head, the sky. By heart, who watched.

Leaf, so many divisions, nonsensical grace.
Everywhere, there might be a part of pain.
One day a mountain, one day the plain.

How much I lost my mind!
I love my hands dirty, feet muddy.
How much to hold when I can't bear.

I think there might be you somewhere.
Somewhere that is where flowers bloom
From a distance too close.

Through my ribs, I'd let it.
I'd let the world be.
My planet: a leaf.

You looked straight, you looked away.
But your head, I know it goes through a leaf.
So many divisions, nonsensical grace.

They will raise bubbles, it'll pop.
Though to the ground to it,
Remaining a thing off our head.

Operating everywhere, I think.
You and me, we should listen.
We're one, how can we not be?

And I make no sense, I know that I'm lost.
But how do I know how to give you my leaf.
You'll still receive it.

I do think, I really do think.
The head lies somewhere so soft and cozy.
On the leaf of their eyes, on their everything.

But there must be a stem somewhere, I dream.
For I'm tired and dozy, sorry to fall asleep.
I see you in your garden, your head on a big leaf.

This is a quite relatable poem to me, the world feels so tiny and huge and like its so much more. I love the view of leaves as the fractaling shapes, they are fun to look at so I like that it is involved in the poem. I also wholeheartedly adore the muddy feet and dirty hands line. Walking outside without shoes feels so freeing. We are just bodies exploring the earth to the best of our abilities.

HEYYY!!! Rae here!
I really like how you use the leaf to represent something bigger, like the world and how everything connects!!! I also like how you bring the leaf back at the end because it makes the poem feel connected from beginning to end. “I'd let the world be” was one of my favorite lines because it feels so peaceful compared to some of the other parts. The imagery with the flowers and the garden is really nice too, especially at the end when you mention seeing someone resting on a big leaf.
Some of the lines were a little confusing to me, like “so many divisions, nonsensical grace,” buttttt I think that adds to the almost dreamlike feeling of the poem! I also noticed how you repeat references to the head throughout the poem, which makes it feel like there's a bigger meaning behind it all. I think there's a lot of interesting imagery here, and I like how the poem doesn't explain absolutely everything because it leaves room for different interpretations. Thank you for sharing!!!

This is the point of view though: A leaf has a lot of texture that looks like division on its surface. And zooming into it we can think about the value of each part separately. If one varies, the whole will change. It is a metaphor to show the line of difference in us. To look straight at it means to see it for a while— the whole leaf, before looking away. To the time one did, it made no sense, because the whole was different to one division. And having a head on a leaf in a garden is for our state of mind we live in without looking around.

sometimes i'm like "I should say something quotable to make it into the quote gen" but then I feel bad because quote gen quotes are very spontaneous
