Tell you how you made you.
So well that when it's written here, you feel it somewhere else.
So well that it must have cost you in and out of you.
How can you slip away from space to the sea?
You didn't let the floor ground you to this world.
Why'd I mind your leave? Have you ever stayed still?

You can step on it over and over,
Nobody's gonna look under your skin
Where you have buried all the times before the sun rose to you.
How can you not feel your heartbeat?
It has been beating for a long life of it now.
Enough for thousands of buildings to build.
Enough for the race to begin.
I can only adore these things as they have passed,
when the sky will turn dark, may I still see ‘I'.

Wait, please do wait, why do you seem that way?
I'm sorry I keep talking to myself when I tell you,
How amazed I am to find you among the dark.
I feel blind as if rose vines poked my eyes.
How bruised I became, why should I not explain?
Please do wait, or else—
How will I meet you after the waves have swept you away?

Rocking with the tides, you have grown eye's'.
Have you drunk the core of pain?
Have you had the mount of bliss?
Have you gone this way, up the tower,
To feel on your knees let the brush clean your crease.
Show me how you see this.

To speak to you when you follow,
While the hours strike right.
It's like picking a rag doll by the underarm carefully.
But if you don't let me, I can never pick up a heart
Off the window you gaze towards.
Do you like shiny glass from your ocean heart?

And I'll tell you again, my rag doll, please listen,
I have dreamed of a worm who sat near the window
To watch the flashy lights as they go.
The other day, it tore away its wiggly body,
To touch that sky through wings.
That makes me wonder if you did the same,
For the way your eyes fell on the sky.

Why'd I mind your leave? You have never stayed still.
You'll leave, you will.
I'll leave, I will.
This place can change like us, but only if you remember we can live twice.
I fear you will let one memory take your life.
You were here for other things.
That's why I won't mind your leave.

When you came here, didn't you think?
You met the heart of Earth,
With the one you carry.
Please let it sweep you away, seize the day.
I beg myself too, for I drank all the pain,
Not to lay them plain inside a cage.

‘You’; only letters that can be anybody.
It's okay for it holds you wherever you leave.
I care for the warmth, even though I don't act like it.
I know I want them to bounce free.
To the only burn I love when my eyes are blind,
I look for you in the dark.

You have never stayed still, so I won't mind your leave.

Tell you how you made you.

This poem is SO deep and moving, and it really hits you in a way that’s hard to even explain. It reads less like a regular poem you’d force yourself to read in English class and more like a late-night text or a whispered secret in the dark.

Right from the first line, it tells you exactly what it’s gonna do:
“So well that when it s written here, you feel it somewhere else.”
Honestly it’s so true 😭 It has this weird power to make you feel the words physically in your chest, which is something I greatly admire, coming from someone who’s very much a rookie at poems loll!
Before even getting into the words, I just have to say how much I absolutely love the aesthetic of the cover picture and the colors you choseeee. The vibes of the cover match the writing perfectly. So warm and fuzzy to me. It looks like something you’d see on a really aesthetic Pinterest board,, and it makes you want to just stare at it for a while haha.
The whole poem feels like it’s about trying to hold onto someone— or maybe a version of yourself— that just won't stay put. The writer keeps asking,

“Why d I mind your leave? Have you ever stayed still?”

It’s like they’re trying to convince themselves that they are totally fine with this person walking away,, even though you can tell it’s secretly breaking their heart. Sadly, it really relates to what I’ve been going through recently! The imagery is so pretty but kind of sad too, going from the normal ground to the ocean, asking

“How can you slip away from space to the sea?”

It feels like the person they are talking about is too magical or too broken for this regular world, like they “didn t let the floor ground you to this world.”

One of my favorite parts is the super beautiful and kind of heartbreaking metaphor about the worm. The writer says, “I have dreamed of a worm who sat near the window... The other day, it tore away its wiggly body, To touch that sky through wings.” That is such a wild way to describe changing and growing up, or just escaping pain. It makes you realize that leaving isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes people have to completely tear themselves apart just to fly, and the speaker recognizes that in the other person when they say “that makes me wonder if you did the same, For the way your eyes fell on the sky.”

By the end, the tone totally changes from being super sad to this beautiful kind of acceptance. When it says, “You ; only letters that can be anybody. It s okay for it holds you wherever you leave,” it’s like a lightbulb goes off. The "You" isn't just one specific person anymore. It could be the reader, it could be the author talking to themselves, orrrrr it could be anyone who has ever felt lost. It leaves you feeling like it’s okay to let go of the things that hurt us, and that we can always start over. Honestly, it’s a beautiful piece of writing that stays in your head long after you finish it. Thank you for sharing!!!!!

I really liked this. The thing that threw me off was the picture in the middle of it.
My favorite lines probably are

"When you came here, didn't you think?
You met the heart of Earth,
With the one you carry."
These lines are confusing to me which I like.
The other lines that really stood out to me was

"So well that when it's written here, you feel it somewhere else.
So well that it must have cost you in and out of you."
I'm trying to tell the meaning but at the same time I enjoy not knowing the meaning.
I hope to read more of your poetry

Thank you very much for the feedback! It's on how a person's made.

And then, as if written by the hand of a bad novelist, an incredible thing happened.
