*Hello, everyone! This fanfic is under my folder “Creepypasta stuff”. Gacha Club character designs are under this forum: https://www.writerfeed.com/topic/117842-my-character-designs-lt-33-3?start=360. Janice and Endora are my OCs. This is not only a Creepypasta fic, but it’s also a Goosebumps fic. Goosebumps is a children’s horror book series with the main mascot being a dummy named Slappy. Also the Backrooms is mentioned too. This is a very unserious and rushed fic but I wanted something silly and strange for Halloween. So enjoy and Happy Halloween!*
It was yet another year of Halloween. Janice and Endora were walking throughout the neighborhood, searching for any other abandoned houses that was not the home of Janice.
They were ghost hunters-at least, that was Endora’s idea. Janice found the whole thing to be rather stupid, but Endora loved the supernatural the way a kid likes action movies: as long as she didn’t get hurt, then it was all good!
Besides, she had Janice as a friend. And Janice was almost always protecting her.
The two of them were walking for quite a while, until-
“That house looks pretty haunted to me!” Endora cried out.
The both of them found themselves standing in front of an old, abandoned mansion, except it wasn’t Janice’s house. It was somebody’s else old and abandoned mansion, which puzzled the young creepling.
“What, you want us to go in there or something?” Janice asked, a little surprised that they actually found another abandoned house, but still not too keen on going inside.
Endora rolled her eyes, “Yeah, duh! Come on!”
She grabbed hold of one of Janice’s claws and dragged the other girl inside of that crickety old cobwebbed house, all too excited to get into the supernatural business.
Janice was wondering how Endora could tell her to “come on” when she wouldn’t have much of a choice anyway.
But at least nothing bad could happen to the human with her around.
…………………………………………………………………
…………………………………………………………………
The inside of the house had no color, only washed-out blacks and muddy browns, with a splash of white on the walls and floorboards. Cobwebs were nestled in the corners and the staircases, mingling with the dust that scattered every which way.
Basically just like Janice’s house, except with no clown or killer in sight.
“You go this way and I’ll go that way.” Endora said, pointing to two completely different directions.
“So you’re just going to split up in an abandoned house you’ve never been in before? Hasn’t being my friend taught you anything about this kind of situation?” Janice asked, because really, how could Endora not remember the oldest trick in the book?
Endora stomped her foot and rolled her eyes, “Yeah, I know people die in horror movies, but this isn’t a horror movie! This is real life! We won’t get much if we stick together every second! It’s all about the IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE!”
“Well I think it’s pretty dumb.”
At that comment, Endora abruptly turned around and glared at her, yelling:
“I don’t care! Just look for some ghosts!”
She then began to storm off to some other area of the house. Janice, though slightly offended, wasn’t going to leave her behind and began to follow her, but as soon as she did so, Endora disappeared into the depths of the house. Janice could not see her anymore.
But she wasn’t one to give up. She slunk into the shadows, staying in tune with her senses, so that she may find Endora on her own.
That was how she chased humans, after all.
…………………………………………………………………
…………………………………………………………………
Endora searched for something that looked haunted. Everything looked haunted, but she wanted to find something special. Something that was more than a cracked mirror or an old music box. Something like-
A ventriloquist dummy on a rocking chair! He wore a black suit with a red rose, his eyebrows turned down in a menacing arch…wait…that was a kind of weird way to describe eyebrows!
But they did look a little scary. Not as scary as the dummy’s smile, though. It was too high.
Endora grinned herself. It was the perfect thing to bring back home! She walked closer to it to get a better look, to pick it up, when she saw the folded piece of parchment in his suit’s breast pocket.
Her eyebrows furrowed. Curiously, she lifted up the parchment and unfolded it, reading:
“Karru Marri Odonna Loma Molonu Karrano.”
She didn’t even know what she said, she just said it. It was strange, but interesting. She took the dummy with the parchment and turned around to show Janice-
A claw enclosed around Endora’s shoulder. She could feel it nearly crushing her bones from how tightly it held. Her mouth wanted to scream, but her mind knew not to.
“Endora. What the actual freaking Hell is that?!”
Janice didn’t sound terrified, since she was hardly ever scared of anything, but merely annoyed.
“It’s a dummy. And get your claw off me!” Endora yelled, swatting Janice’s claw away from her shoulder.
And then Endora really screamed, because she felt small teeth biting her hand, wood sinking into flesh.
“Who are you calling dummy, dummy?” The dummy-yes, the actual dummy-snapped.
Endora was rubbing the wound, tears welling in her eyes as blood spilled out. The dummy was smiling gleefully at her pain. Her heart raced in her chest, because she just wanted to do something scary! Why did she have to get hurt?
Janice took Endora’s bloody hand in her claw and started unwrapping a bandage that was covering one of her claws. It was a little dirty but she hoped that it would stop the bleeding.
“Awww, how cute! Helping your little friend. Say, perhaps I can be your little friend. You know, join your monster family.”
The monster girl rolled her eyes because who did this wheezy creature think that he was talking to?!
“I’d be a great addition-“
“No!” Janice yelled, kicking him with her boot.
He went flying to the other side of the room, landing with a thud on the ground. Still, he got up and brushed dust off himself, glaring at the two girls.
“Slappy is not happy!” He yelled.
As soon as he started running towards them both at full speed, Janice let go of Endora and flung herself at him, trying her best to pull him apart, but dang, that dummy wasn’t easy to put down. She couldn’t even break his limbs!
So she stuffed him into her backpack and rushed out the door, holding Endora’s not bloody and bandaged hand as she did so.
There was a lot they needed to talk about.
…………………………………………………………………
…………………………………………………………………
“Why he’s talking?!” Janice asked as soon as they were both outside. Slappy was thrashing inside of her backpack, but at least he wasn’t talking anymore. His voice sounded awful.
“I don’t know! I just read this piece of paper and he seemed-“
“What paper?”
“Something with a bunch of weird words in it.” Endora shrugged.
What…what?
“You mean like an evil spell?”
“I guess.”
Janice took a deep breath. Well, a sort of deep breath. She couldn’t actually breathe, her lungs didn’t work like that.
“You can’t just go around saying random things out loud! I heard you say those words, but I didn’t think that they were-how could you do this?!” Janice screeched, shaking Endora back and forth in pure astonishment. Because shouldn’t she have known better?
“I didn’t know! Stop shaking me!”
Janice let go, but she still stomped down on the ground hard as she ran home, Endora following after her. It was all she could do to not slap her across the face.
“Can’t you just kill him?”
“Didn’t you see me try that? It’s not working!”
Slappy had thankfully stopped moving, but she wasn’t going to take him out. It didn’t feel right. The sun was going down, casting the sky in a dim orange glow. At least nobody was out to watch them.
“So what do we do?” Endora asked.
“You mean, what am I going to do? I’m telling my parents. Unlike your stupid human ones, mine will believe me. Then he’ll be dead.” Janice said.
She wasn’t mad anymore. It was to be expected of humans to make mistakes like that. Still, Endora chased after her and told her that what she said was “mean”.
Whatever. It wasn’t even that bad anyway.

The late hour had come for Janice to eat dinner with her parents. The three of them all lived in an abandoned mansion, with broken beams and dark-rust stains that may or may not have been blood stains.
They all sat surrounding a wooden table with missing posters as placemats, all of which were the victims of Janice’s parents and some were Janice’s. The parents in question was one black and white striped clown who hated not only children with the exception of his daughter, but also cats and dogs and a man with skin so pale it was almost as white as his hoodie. Well…his hoodie was starting to get a little dark, from all of the blood.
They were Laughing Jack and Jeff the Killer, two of the most gory Creepypastas alive and of course, they were eating creepypasta for dinner. It was human veins and eyeballs on a plate, pulled from different people!
Slappy was tied to a chair at the table, duct tape was on his mouth. Janice did it herself, but she still felt like it wasn’t enough. She needed to tell her parents.
“What’s with the dummy?” Jeff asked between chewing veins, pointing to Slappy with his knife. The same one he used to kill people, actually. He used that knife for everything. Crimson crust collected on the silver blade, along with yellow and green mold. But it still got the job done!
“He’s not a dummy. Don’t call him that.” Janice said. She didn’t really care what Slappy thought. She just didn’t want him to go all crazy with just one word.
Jeff sighed and folded his hands together, looking down at the ground, facing the Great Demon Leader Zalgo and shook his head, “Okayyy…what is he doing in our house?”
Janice tensed. She did not like that reaction. But she was still going to talk about it!
“Endora accidentally brought him to life and now I think he’s going to hurt her or something. I tried killing him but he won’t die! Can you guys kill him?”
“Dummies can’t talk on their own.” Laughing Jack spoke up, the first words he uttered about the whole ordeal.
She whipped her head towards him, absolutely flabbergasted beyond belief over what he just…what he just said!
“You’re literally a living clown doll, what makes you think he can’t talk?! I literally saw him talk! He’s-“
“He’s pretty quiet for a talking dummy.”
“I told you not to say that! And he’s just pretending! Slappy is clearly evil, can’t you sense it? I mean, you guys are evil too!”
Tears formed in her eyes. She wasn’t sad, just frustrated. How could they not believe her? How could they not trust her?
“That’s his name?!”
Laughing Jack burst into high pitched, claws-on-a-gravestone cackling, screeching and screeching and screeching as blood droplets shot from his teeth, from the dinner. Slappy still did not move, his brown eyes seemed to be glaring at Janice, whose claws were fisted up so she would not attack. It was not worth it.
Suddenly, Jeff rose up from the chair and sliced off the ropes holding Slappy with his knife. Then he picked up the dummy and threw him across the room. Slappy disappeared into thin air.
“What just happened?”
“The backrooms. Since you’re so scared of a little thing like that, I threw it in there. Don’t bring up anything ridiculous like that ever again.”
“…What’s the backrooms?”
“Eat your dinner, Janice. And Jack, for the hatred of Zalgo, chew your damn food. It’s not that funny.”
All went quiet at the bloody dinner table.
…………………………………………………………………
…………………………………………………………………
Janice woke up to a dusky orange morning, perfect for October. She ate a breakfast of ladyfingers, all fingers that Laughing Jack stole from random women and then, she went to school.
Endora was not present, as were many other human children. People whispered about kids going missing. This wouldn’t frighten Janice normally but Endora was also missing, so after school, she asked her parents if they knew what became of her.
They complained about their victims disappearing before they could attack. Endora was not one of them.
So Janice had something more important to do than homework.
…………………………………………………………………
…………………………………………………………………
She ran back to the abandoned house and slammed open the door. To her horror, which didn’t happen often, Endora was lying slumped against a wall…but she was a life-sized dummy! There were other children as dummies too, but Janice paid no attention to them.
“Not so fast, Janice!” Slappy cackled. Janice couldn’t see him. He was nowhere to be found and then-
She heard a crash from upstairs. Endora and the other kids were back to their regular selves, blinking their eyes, disoriented.
“I’m sorry I brought Slappy to life! I just wanted us to find ghosts and-“
“Stop it. I’m just glad you’re not a dummy anymore!” Janice smiled, running up to her friend and hugging her tightly. Because that was her friend. No one was allowed to torment her!
“This time, we got rid of him for good.” Laughing Jack grinned from the farther end of the house, Jeff at his side.
The girls stared at them, Endora being pleasantly surprised and Janice disbelieving.
“Perhaps your little story about the dummy wasn’t fake after all. We found him and sent him to the Backrooms Backrooms.”
“…What?”
“Don’t worry about it, Jan!”
And so while her parents began killing the other children, Janice took Endora’s hand.
Together, they’d cause a fright far from those strange ghostly spooks.

Curiosity: Initial Thoughts
Heyyyy creeper!!♡
BROO. They went ghost hunting and got a dummy?!?!!
Endora. Whyy are we splitting up in an abandoned mansion??? Whyyy are we reading mysterious pieces of paper aloud?? Don't we know anything from horror movies??
I really enjoyed how Janice and Endora were opposites. Endora is super excited about the supernaturalll.... whilst Janice is the tired friend who knows something will go wrongg. This made it very entertaining.
The Claws: Room for Improvement
There are a few parts where things jump from one scene to another. For example, when Slappy is brought to life and then they leave the mansion. I would have liked a bit more tension here!?!! especially when Slappy starts talking.
Some descriptions and conversations can be cut downnn. Also, a grammar check. The story has some amazing ideas and having a few more moments where they can be expanded on would make them even better. but stilll anywayyy.ToT
The Cat’s Whiskers: Highlights
"Who are you calling dummy, dummy?"
SLAPPY. We just met and you're already making fun of people?? O_O
I loved how he was introduced. The small detail about him biting Endora makes clear that this is no ordinary toy. Janice trying to defend her friend but also being annoyed at her was brilliantt.
BUT THE DINNER SCENE?!
JANICE’S PARENTS. Laughing Jack and Jeff the killerr. Sitting around a dinner table arguing whether a talking dummyy can exist?!!!
What kind of family do they have??
I loved how Jeff just tossed Slappy into the Backrooms.
And the ending. Janice comingg back to find Endora has changed was a great way to create tension again. Their friendship was very sweet and Janice immediately hugged her.
After the Prowl: Final Thoughts
Overall this was a very chaotic Halloween storyy. The crossover between Creepypasta, Goosebumps and the Backrooms was the perfect silly mix.
BUT I HAVE QUESTIONS?!
How did Jeff know how to send Slappy to the Backrooms? How did Slappy turn all those kids into dummies? Why are Janice’s parents so relaxed about this?!!??
I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!
~lilly ♡
🐾 Blackcat has left their pawprints.
*Jeff accidentally fell into the Backrooms once so he now had access to it.
*Slappy used his Slappy magic to make them dummies!
*Janice’s parents are monsters so none of this is a lot for them.
Thx for your review/advice!
This was the most beautifully chilling thing I have read in a very long time and everything about it was just amazing. It really gives off a very scary vibe for Halloween, which is crazy because Halloween is literally tomorrow. This is so frighteningly good and I hope that you never give up, I hope you keep writing and eventually accomplish all your author dreams.
Thank you and I’m glad you enjoyed!
