if you asked me to change the seasons,
I would make rain fall in winter,
snow fall in summer,
make leaves fall on you in spring,
and make flowers bloom in autumn for you.
If you asked for a rainbow at night,
I would come into your dreams as a silly rainbow,
just to make you smile.
If you asked me how much I loved you,
I would say—
like the moon loves the stars,
like the ocean loves the shore,
like the sun loves the sky,
like the clouds love the earth,
like the leaves love their branches,
like fire loves water,
like a wall loves its clock,
and even more than all of them.
And if you asked me to let my final winter come,
just to make you happy,
I would happily rest my head in your lap and close my eyes,
because even as the cold wind blows around us,
I would want the last place I ever knew
to be safe beside you....

This poem genuinely made my day ☁🔅
From the very first lines, there is such a pure, whimsical sweetness to every word. The idea of changing the seasons—making snow fall in summer, flowers bloom in autumn, or even popping up in someone's dream as a "silly rainbow"—is just so soft and imaginative ☀ It paints this beautiful picture of loving someone so much that you’d bend nature just to bring a simple smile to their face.
I love how the middle stanza balances these huge, timeless truths with cute, everyday details. Comparing love to the way the ocean needs the shore, or the moon loves the stars, makes it feel like an eternal constant 🐟 But then throwing in "like a wall loves its clock" adds this grounding, charming touch that feels so authentic and human. It’s those subtle, unique comparisons that really make the sentiment stick with you.
The ending completely swept me away. Moving from lighthearted, magical wishes to that serene, quiet moment at the end shows such a deep level of trust and comfort. Resting your head in someone's lap as the cold wind blows, just wanting to feel safe right beside them, is such a breathtakingly beautiful way to describe complete peace with another person ☁
Thank you so much for sharing this—it left me feeling so warm, gentle, and full of comfort! 🔅
Thank you so much
Oh how I relate to this so
🙂
heyo!!! We meet once again!!
I noticed this is a little different from your usual formats, which is intriguing in it's own way.
the repetitive use of the word "like" in this section is interesting, I enjoy it. One thing I have a question about is the line that says "Like fire loves water." This could be interpreted in a few ways, but one may automatically think that fire would hate water because water would put it out.
The poem appears to shift from love going out to said person, and ends with how much the narrator loves the person. Interesting there.
anyway, I have a class to get to :)
