I am a bird with wings, but don't want to fly,
I am a star, yet not beautiful,
I am a shore with a shells yet no waves touch me,
I am the moon in the sky but no one looks at me,
I am a sun that gives darkness,
I am a sky with a broken heart that always cries,
I am soil with roots but trees never give shade,
I am the breeze with nowhere to go.....

I really love that this is giving more meaning but changing nothing. This poem frames nothingness and hangs it on the wall. This poem is generally very beautiful, and a good use of repetition. The only thing that I would change would be grouping.
it could potentially build from soil to shore to bird to breeze to sky to star to sun to moon, build from earth to sky in layers. But as I say in every review I write, poetry is subjective so take every single thing said with a grain of salt, and feel no obligation to change.
I enjoyed this. The repeated “I am” structure gives the poem a consistent rhythm, while each image presents a different version of isolation. I liked “I am a sun that gives darkness” and “I am the breeze with nowhere to go”; both take something normally associated with warmth, light, or freedom and turn it into something lonely. The final line works particularly well as a closing image.
A few of the comparisons feel more familiar or less developed than the stronger ones. “A star, yet not beautiful” and “a sky with a broken heart” are strong premises, but they could be more distinctive with more specific imagery. I noticed that the opening uses “I’m” while the rest of the poem consistently uses “I am,” which slightly breaks the rhythm; keeping “I am” throughout would make the repetition feel more deliberate. Still, the central idea comes through clearly, and the imagery creates a cohesive feeling of loneliness.
Thank you for this read.
Ahh! Thankyou for your review i will correct it. Check my other poems if you like to
Hi! I loved this poem. It's short and simple but conveys a lot of strong feelings in a brilliant way. I understood it to be about feeling cut off from your own worth, so you feel or know that you have potential, beauty, or something to give the world, but you are unable to use it or have it seen by others. A very strong message!
Some suggestions for improvement:
Maybe 'but I don't want to fly'
'yet I am not beautiful'
I think using 'I or 'I am' in the examples helps the sentences feel more complete and balanced with the first clause.
just one single shell? I love this image overall but surely 'a shore with shells' makes more sense here. And there should be a comma after shell.
should be a comma after sky (you do this in the first two lines, so this makes it consistent throughout)
a very nice oxymoron here
this line doesn't quite make sense to me. I do understand the image, but the soil doesn't have roots, a tree has roots in soil. Maybe 'I am a tree with deep roots, but I never give shade?'
I also wouldn't have a comma at the end of the lines- either a period or no punctuation- just to keep grammar consistent!
<3 keep writing!
Hiii! I'm Azzy! I'm gonna write a little review on ur poem :333
I'm always down for some repetition! In fact, repetition can make a poem better! With that said, I love the repetition of the phrase 'I am'! It puts emphasis on what you're trying to say or the message you're trying to put out!
This is such a nice line to me! I don't know why, but it just speaks to me, and I'm sure it does to others
There are a few 'tweaks' with this poem, tho!
Simple spelling mistake, it happens! I make so many spelling mistakes when texting or writing, mainly because I type TOO fast! My tip is to slow down when typing (if ur like me) or after you finish writing a line, paragraph, stanza, etc etc-- go back a check for spelling or grammar mistakes! Spelling mistakes are something that every writer has experienced, so don't feel discouraged! I made a spelling mistake typing this review, help </33333
This could be worded a bit better, but I understand what you were trying to say nevertheless!
Overall, this was a nice poem! Keep writing, and have a good day, lovely! I believe in you
Ahh! Thank you very much for your review yeah! I will correct
